covering again

I've been covering volleyball games the past few days. The Shakey's Girls Volleyball Tournament of Champions are currently being held in Bacolod so I have my hands full until tomorrow when the tournament ends. Unfortunately, the local team, University of St. La Salle-Integrated School is already out of contention. The tournament is not wanting in quality with Hope Christian School of Manila and University of Southern Philippines Foundation of Cebu stamping their class.

The two teams actually have contrasting styles. Hope relying on a tough defense, great teamwork and blocking and occasional but timely attacks. USPF is the more attack-minded side. Hope rallied to win in five sets when they met in the eliminations. It will be interesting how the two teams collide again later.

I have been stuck at the desk, calling sources to get stories the past few weeks and covering again is a welcome respite, just what I needed to bring life into my daily routine, which was starting bore me. Another advantage is that I get to write stories with color. The pretty girls I see on court is another bonus.
